I have been an artist as far back as I can remember. In pre-school I
would finger paint until my paper was so heavy with paint that it would
rip in half when it was picked up. When I had no space left on my paper
I would paint the table, my clothes, my hair... you get the idea. When
out of public school, I decided to pursue my education and become an
art teacher. In this field I thought I would be able to pass on my passion
for art to younger minds and maybe even spark this passion in some who
lacked it. After three years of trying to obtain a full time position
as an art teacher and realizing how corrupt the educational system is,
I am sad to say I found it to be a lost cause. So, I joined an industry
that has a reputation for being corrupt (at least the corruption smacks
you right in the face and doesn't pretend to not exist) so I could continue
with my artwork more freely. After being a tattoo artist for about four
years, I now realize that this is the place where I can instill my passion
in others. What gives greater satisfaction than knowing that my artwork
becomes a living, breathing entity as it forges a life long bond between
myself and the person who wears it. All I can say is I love this industry,
I love tattooing, and I'm glad I ended up doing what I'm supposed to
be doing.
